Enjoying Outdoors ~ Blanchard Park

I enjoy spending time outside. One of my favorite outdoor activities is to go on walks or hikes. One afternoon I was looking to do some exploring and checking out a park I hadn't been to yet.  I went to the Orange County website and checked out the parks that had trails and settled on Blanchard Park.

I'm always curious to what type of "trail" I will find when going to a new park. Will the trail loop, be shaded, crowded and how long does it go? Blanchard Park had a nice trail bordering the Little Econ River. The view was lovely. There were a number of different birds enjoying the water and gracing the nearby trees. I enjoyed watching them during our stroll.

My husband and I took about a 40 minute stroll. We walked down towards the YMCA and did a small loop through the woods and then made our way back. It was nice to see other folks enjoying this beautiful park. There were benches and tables scattered about offering lovely views of the water. This park offers a number of amenities which I'm sure makes it quite popular on the weekend.

There isn't much shade on the trail, so get out early and enjoy the 7.9 miles of paved trails. Once Wawa's opens up on Colonial grab some picnic fixings to take to the park and enjoy watching dinner and the sunset over the Little Econ River.

Blanchard Park is a true visual delight!
